Have a set and well maintained meal time. It is better to have an early meal time. Have lunch between 12.30 and 1.00pm, and dinner between 6 and 6.30 pm. Try to have you lunch between 12.30 and 1.00 pm and have dinner 6 to 6.30 pm. Meal times should be as follows, lunch between 12.30 and 1.00 pm, while dinner between 6 pm to 6.30 pm. Studies have shown that eating late often leads to the growth of a fat known as triglyceride in the blood. Triglyceride come from the unused calories consumed and can increase risks of stroke and heart attacks. Eating early will enable you to burn off the consumed calories.

The whole family should be present during every meal time. This way everyone can talk about their day. It also helps to regulate the eating speed. If you are sitting down and relaxed during meals, you are aware of what food goes inside your mouth. Additionally, your body will have enough time to communicate with your brain when you are full and digest the consumed food.

You must not pile your plate with food. A moderate portion is enough. Use a smaller plate if you are feeling short changed during meals. It will still look the same visually, however, the volume will have reduced. This way you will be satisfied with what you get.

Your mindset and attitude about fitness and food is essential for your success. While you use mind tricks with the small plate and play with your perception on the amount of food that you have, apply other methods which will help you along the way.

You have to understand and accept the fact that although you may be able to eat what you want when and how you want to, you can also choose the fit and healthy alternative. You have to understand that every little snack matters. You may think that having cake crumbs with little calories is okay, but the bottom line is that you are giving in to the habit.

It is not easy to remain motivated or stick to a fitness plan. It is hard to schedule a fitness regime in this busy life. One often has family and work commitments taking priority. Write down the advantages of exercise, what you want to get from it and how you feel about it. To stay motivated, set goals which you can achieve.
